A very interesting article in which how "Twilight" has surpassed Harry Potter's fandom in an overwhelming way, it also depicts how Twilight''s and Harry's difference made Twilight what it is today:
“Twilight took over the charm that Harry Potter had cast, with perfect timing.
Twilight characters were a welcome break from the monotony of witches and wizards atop brooms and armed with wands. Vampires and werewolves made that journey from horror films to this (Twilight) series, and what we had was glamour and entertainment,” says entrepreneur and lifestyle activist, Sahil Khan.
Harry Potter epitomized friendship, everlasting, while also catering to a more universal audience. Yet, that did not seem to work either in favour or against the series when Stephanie Meyer sidelined it, without much effort. Its shelf life, so to speak, had passed.Read more here
